Eoin Magennis is a Principal Economist in the Ulster University Economic Policy Centre and has been there since 2016. Before that he was Policy Research Manager in InterTradeIreland, the cross-border body with responsibility for trade and business development. Between these he has close to 25 years of experience in economic research and statistical analysis, and a commitment to cross-border cooperation in Ireland and improving the evidence base for the economies in both parts of the island.
His work is primarily on labour market dynamics and policy as well as regional economics in both Ireland and Britain. He has collaborated with colleagues in the OECD and universities across the island including DCU, Maynooth University, Galway University, MTU and UCC.
