Jane has responsibility for the Garda Performance and Compliance team. The purpose of the team is to oversee the Governance relationship between the Department and An Garda Síochána (AGS), including supporting senior-level meetings; to drive forward Garda reform through the delivery of ‘A Policing Service for our Future’ (APSFF) as the implementation programme of the report of the Commission on the Future of Policing in Ireland (CoFPI); to oversee AGS performance through the delivery of the annual policing plan, in particular the implementation of the Operating Model and Ireland’s European Union obligations on the Schengen Information System, to ensure AGS compliance with the recommendations of the Garda Inspectorate and the DoJ-AGS Oversight Agreement; and to oversee the handling of Garda Protected Disclosures and other complaints to GSOC.
