Fintan Towey has responsibility at Assistant Secretary level for the Water Division concerns the development of, and oversight of implementation of, polices to ensure the protection and restoration of the ecological status of Ireland’s water resources – surface and groundwater and marine waters - and for the provision of effective drinking water and waste-water services to meet the needs of business and society at large. Key elements of the responsibility include the implementation of the Water Framework Directive, the Marine Strategy Framework Directive and the governance and funding of Uisce Éireann. The Division is also responsible for corporate governance of the Ervia Group.
