Sylvia Draper is an active researcher and Professor of Molecular Materials in Trinity College Dublin (TCD). She graduated in Chemistry from the University of Exeter in 1988 and received her Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge.
She is the Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in TCD and is currently serving her second term in this role. She is responsible for leading and shaping the teaching and research mission of the faculty. In her role she supports the Faculty’s eight constituent schools to drive new, collaborative and impactful educational offerings, to identify interdisciplinary synergies and to respond to emerging societal needs.
She is also academic champion of the E3 Martin Naughton Learning Foundry: a 30 year project, with a 7200m2 purpose-built building at its head and transformational STEM education at its heart.
