Jonathan Patchell has responsibility at Principal level for the Regional Enterprise Plans, Funding and Infrastructure Unit. The Unit, working closely with regional stakeholders, is responsible for the development and implementation of the Regional Enterprise Plans and other related regional enterprise development initiatives. The Unit is responsible for oversight of the Department's regional enterprise funding schemes administered by Enterprise Ireland, including the Smart Regions Enterprise Innovation Scheme, Regional Enterprise Development Fund, Border Enterprise Development Fund and Regional Enterprise Transition Scheme. The Unit leads on the Department’s work related to the National Hub Strategy. The Unit also leads the Department’s work to support economic growth in a balanced manner across Ireland by aligning infrastructure delivery and planning under Project Ireland 2040 with the needs and priorities of enterprise.
