Stephen Curran has responsibility at Principal Officer level for the Trade and Investment Promotion Unit and the Ireland /UK unit in the Trade Division. The role of the Trade and Investment Promotion Unit is to work with the relevant Units and agencies of the Department to reinforce delivery of the goals of sustainable export growth and diversification and of strong inward investment. The work of the Ireland-UK Unit is to optimise enterprise collaboration between the North and South of Ireland, primarily by providing effective support to and oversight of the work of InterTradeIreland (ITI). Ancillary to this is responsibility for the specific enterprise themes of the Peace Plus Programme operated by the Special EU Programmes Body and working with the North-South Ministerial Council on other relevant cross-border issues of significance to the Department.
