Dr Claire Conneely is part of the Education for Social Impact team at Google, where she has worked since 2014. She is responsible for applying Google’s innovation, research, and resources to promote progress and expand educational opportunity for all, in Ireland and internationally. She develops programmes and supports partners to narrow the digital divide, impacting thousands of learners and educators annually.
A Music Education graduate, Claire started her career as a teacher, followed by several years in the charity and university sectors, where she developed and led education outreach and access programmes. She has a strong interest in research and holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Technology and Education from Trinity College Dublin.
Claire was a member of the Digital Strategy for Schools 2015-2020 Advisory Group and the Leaving Certificate Computer Science Development Group 2017-2018. She served as a non-executive board member of Camara Ireland from 2014 to 2018. She is currently a non-executive director of iScoil, which provides learning, accreditation and education pathways to some of Ireland’s most vulnerable young people.
