Christopher Sibley is an Assistant Director General in the Central Statistics Office with responsibility for delivering and developing the International Accounts, Trade and Government Finance Statistics directorate’s programme of activities. Christopher’s work is on measuring the Irish Economy and in particular the impact of multinationals. He was previously Head of National Accounts Integration and the CSO’s Large Case Unit, but has spent many years responsible for the Irish Balance of Payments and International Accounts.
He received his PhD in Economics in 2005 from Trinity College Dublin. He has lectured on statistics and research methods in the Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick, the Whitaker School of Government and Management at the Institute of Public Administration and in the Department of Economics in Trinity College Dublin. Christopher is a council member of Economic and Social Studies and of the Statistical and Social Inquiry Society of Ireland.
