Simon is a Deputy Assistant Chief State Solicitor with responsibility for the State Securities Section in the State Property Division. This Section is responsible for advising on a diverse range of property matters including capital grants and Waivers under the State Property Act 1965.
He qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and practised primarily in public procurement, IT and commercial law in the Chief State Solicitor's Office, Central Bank of Ireland, and the European Central Bank. He also spent time as a seconded legal advisor to the Department of Education.
Simon holds an Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) and Master of Laws in Commercial Law (LLM) from the University of Wales. Additionally, he holds postgraduate diplomas in Applied Employment Law, Aviation Leasing and Finance Law and Technology Law.
