Trader Notice No. 001 of 2011:
Provisions were introduced by European Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 1287/2011 on 9 December 2011 in relation to the importation of fresh bananas.
From 1 January 2012, this Regulation has removed the requirement for Import Licences for fresh bananas falling within CN code 0803 0019.
Import licences with expiry dates falling on or after 1 January 2012, which are not required to cover banana imports up to 31 December 2011, may be returned to the Department for full release of security whether or not licences are fully used.
Notification of wholesale prices for bananas is still required to be submitted weekly to the Department.
