The Commission on Taxation and Welfare hosted an online open public meeting and a two-day forum continuing its public outreach and stakeholder engagement following its successful public consultation.
Open Public Meeting
The Commission held an Open Public Meeting on March 2nd. The purpose of the meeting was to engage a wide audience in information sharing and discussion. The meeting entitled Our Future Tax and Welfare was facilitated through the Local Authority Public Participation Network (PPN).
Our Future Tax and Welfare Forum
The Commission Our Future Tax and Welfare Forum was held on March 3rd and 4th. The main purpose of this forum was to allow the Commission to engage with a number of stakeholders and to allow for Commission members to hear from a diverse range of voices from across society.
As part of the forum Gerry Reilly of the Central Statistics Office gave a presentation on Ireland Now and Future Demographic Challenges. The presentation set the scene for discussions during the two-day forum and is available below
