The Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science is preparing its Statement of Strategy 2021 - 2023. The Statement of Strategy will set out how the department does its work over the next three years, and what our guiding principles are.
The department is responsible for policy, funding and governance of the further and higher education and research sectors, and for the oversight of the work of the State agencies and public institutions operating in those areas.
The department’s role is to ensure that these sectors underpin and stimulate Ireland’s social and economic development, and that the opportunities provided by public investment and policy in those sectors are made more widely available to everyone, including the most vulnerable people in society.
To help us do this, we would like to hear your views on the following questions:
We would be grateful to receive your response to these questions, as well as any more general views you may have on the strategic direction of the department and how we can best deliver on our remit.
We also welcome any additional views that may assist us more generally in the development of the new Strategy.
Submissions should be emailed to Strategy_Statement@dfheris.gov.ie with “Statement of Strategy 2021 - 2023” in the subject line.
The closing date for receipt of submissions is close of business, 18 December 2020.
Please note that it is intended that all submissions received will be made available under the Freedom of Information Acts and as such may be published on our website following the publication of the Statement of Strategy.
