Eamon Ryan, TD, Minister for Transport, has published for public consultation a draft Strategy for Data Concerning Electric Vehicles Recharging Infrastructure, which is available below for download.
The Draft Strategy for Data Concerning Electric Vehicles Recharging Infrastructure Plan aims to ensure that there is high-quality data regarding public EV recharging infrastructure made available in Ireland by enabling the provision of high-quality information services to EV Drivers by other data users.
The Draft Strategy describes the data, data infrastructure and policies required to support the data users of the publicly accessible EV recharging infrastructure in Ireland. It also describes how Ireland will meet their regulatory obligations as laid out under ITS and AFIR.
While EU data requirements for the various forms of alternative fuels are outlined in AFIR, the scope for this strategy is to set the foundation for complying with requirements for the electric vehicle recharging infrastructure only.
The Minister for Transport intends to publish a Strategy for Data Concerning Electric Vehicles Recharging Infrastructure Plan in early 2025.
The Department for Transport is now inviting everyone to have their say by completing the public survey accompanying the draft Guidelines. The survey is available here .
The closing date for taking part in the public consultation is 5pm on Friday November 29, 2024.
