Enhancement of Public Realm of the Middle square of Macroom town including:
Provision of a single raised plaza consisting of the two delineated squares – one providing a traffic table, and one serving the entrance to the Briery Gap. Reduction of road carriageway width. Widening of Footpaths to the north and south of Castle Street/Middle Square.
Reconfiguration of existing 29 no. car spaces, 2 no. loading bays and 1 no. universal access parking space to allow provision for 9 no. car spaces, 2 no. universal access car park spaces and 1 no. loading bay. The works will also include paving, seating, soft landscaping, drainage, urban trees, lighting, and provision for new courtesy crossing and all associated site works.
The proposed works are within an ACA and in proximity to Protected Structures.
