Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Mr Damien English, T.D., on Wednesday 17th January 2018, published draft Water Services - Guidelines for Planning Authorities for consultation.
The draft Guidelines are intended to provide best practice guidance in relation to the interface between the planning and development functions provided by planning authorities and the delivery of public services by Irish Water.
The draft Guidelines also offer clear guidance on how Irish Water will interact with the planning process in the provision of this critical infrastructure.
The Department invites submissions on the draft guidelines over the period to Wednesday 28th February 2018. Submissions can be emailed to forwardplanning@housing.gov.ie or by post to

Draft Water Services Guidelines 2018
While focusing on process rather than policy, these Guidelines provide best practice guidance in relation to the interface between the planning and development functions provided by planning authorities and the delivery of public water services by Irish Water.
All submissions received will be subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection legislation.

Following consideration of submissions the guidelines may be amended.
