The Probation Service is currently carrying out a consultation on its Statement of Strategy 2024-2026. This document will provide the strategic direction for the Service over the next three-year period as it works towards the realisation of the vision of ‘safer and more inclusive communities where offending, and its causes, are addressed’.
To obtain a broader perspective for input into the Statement of Strategy 2024-26, the views of partners and key stakeholders from across the justice system and beyond are now being sought to ensure the Probation Service can deliver an effective service to support community safety across Ireland.
In its Statement of Strategy 2024-26 the Probation Service has set out five proposed areas of strategic priority areas and associated goals which is believes are necessary to realise this. These include:
1. Enhancing Community Safety
2. Empowering Our Staff
3. Building Collaboration & Engagement
4. Enabling Social Inclusion
5. Future-proofing Our Service
Within this context, the Service is inviting contributions and insights from relevant stakeholders that can be considered as part of the development of its Statement of Strategy 2024-26.
A copy of the previous Probation Service Statement of Strategy 2021–2023 can be viewed here.
