The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage intends to enter into a Data Sharing Agreement under the DSGA with the National Museum of Ireland in advance of issuing licences for archaeological excavations. The Director of the National Museum of Ireland is a statutory consultee in relation to excavation licence applications as provided under section 26(2) of the National Monuments Act 1930 (as amended).This Data Sharing Agreement covers sharing of Personal Data, in limited circumstances, by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage with the National Museum of Ireland. The data sharing activity may include such personal data elements as names, addresses and contact details of the applicant, the owner of the land, the person or body funding the excavation and details of the conservator.
