Summary
Food Wise 2025 is the current ten-year strategy for the agri-food sector in a series of ten-year plans that have been in place since 2000. While Food Wise has been instrumental in providing a framework and statement of intent for the industry, like all strategic plans for the future, it must evolve and respond to a rapidly changing context both within and outside the sector.
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has begun the process for developing the next ten year strategy to replace Food Wise 2025 and a public consultation forms an essential part of this process. The consultation is framed to ascertain the views of all stakeholders on the direction of the sector to 2030 and what strategic actions are required to ensure it lives up to its potential, as well as societal expectations.
In order to aid the process of responding to this public consultation, a ‘Response Form’ (containing the questions in the consultation document) is available for respondents to complete and this should be submitted by e-mail if possible, or in writing to:
E-mail submissions: [email 2030strategy@agriculture.gov.ie ] 2030strategy@agriculture.gov.ie or
By Postal submissions:
