TB Statistics
The level of bovine TB has been rising since 2017. The overall steady increase in herd incidence since then highlights the continued need for urgent action by all stakeholders.
As of 29th December 2024 (provisional) , 41,630 reactors have been identified and 6,142 herds were restricted on a 12-month rolling basis. As of 29th December, herd incidence is provisionally 6.00%.
We can help decrease the levels of bovine TB by reducing the risk of TB entering our herds. To learn more about reducing the risk of TB please see our videos and leaflets at the link below.

Expenditure
Expenditure at the end of Q4 2024 is €100.616m. On farm market valuation (OFMV) has increased 56% when compared to Q4 2023. This continued increase year on year in OFMV is due to strong market values and the rise in the number reactors. OFMV is the main contributor to the increase in TB programme expenditure over the last three years.
