Responsibility at Assistant Secretary General level for contributing to the overall management of the department at the strategic level, as a member of the Management Board and with overall responsibility at Assistant Secretary General level for the work of seven Units:
- Mother and Baby Homes Action Plan
- Payment Scheme Executive Office
- Memorialisation and Historic Burials
- Finance - Payments and Accounts
- Finance - Vote Management
- Research and Evaluation
- Data and Analytics
Responsibility at Assistant Secretary level for leading the Government response to the final report of the Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Homes, including the Government Action Plan, the Mother and Baby Institutions Payment Scheme, the Birth Information and Tracing Act 2022, the Institutional Burials Act 2022, the intervention at the Mother and Baby Home site at Tuam, and the development of the National Centre for Research and Remembrance.
Reporting to the Secretary General as Accounting Officer with responsibility at Assistant Secretary level for Finance, Payments and Accounts, including lead negotiating responsibility for the annual Estimates process and overall Vote expenditure.
Responsibility at Assistant Secretary level for research, evaluation and data functions in the Department.
