Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth/Economic and Social Research Institute Partnership on Children and Young People

Since 2019, the REU has managed a Research Partnership between DCEDIY and the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).

From this partnership, the Department has commissioned and funded a number of reports per year using data from Growing Up in Ireland, the national longitudinal study of children and young people. The aim of the partnership is to provide an evidence base that supports and informs Government policy development in the areas of children and youth

The research partnership allows the Department to:

1. rapidly respond to emerging situations with high quality, impartial research

2. take a long term look at complex social problems

3. shape Irish research to be policy engaged

4. to maximise use of GUI data
