This report analyses the rate of surplus for Early Learning and Care and School-Age Childcare (ELC/SAC) services in Ireland. It describes the variation in the surplus rate across different types of services and uses regression analysis to identify the key drivers. It also compares the characteristics of services in deficit with those roughly breaking even or in surplus.
