The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth provides suitable temporary accommodation to displaced persons fleeing conflict. Similarly, displaced persons have a responsibility of good conduct towards one another and towards providers and staff providing assistance. If a BOTP is asked to leave the accommodation provided by DCEDIY due to anti-social behaviour, they will not be offered alternative accommodation. This applies to people in all state provided accommodation.
Together, in cooperation with accommodation providers and implementation partners, we can provide and maintain an accommodation environment where respectful, open and equal relationships are the norm.
The Department, through the Ukraine Response Team, recognises that Anti-Social behaviour can have a very negative effect on the quality of life of displaced persons in temporary accommodation and their wider communities. This policy seeks to set out principles, practices and procedures to support the exercise of that responsibility in these challenging circumstances.
