Introduction

The Live Out Loud campaign is a national campaign that celebrates LGBTI+ youth and aims to show how they are visible, valued and included.

We want to hear positive stories from every sector of society. There are three submission types: video, image and written word. Below is a list of ideas to help you come up with your submission. This is note a finite list, so please feel free to develop your own idea that may or may not be listed below.


Inspiration and Ideas for Video Submissions

  • a personal video diary from a LGBTI+ young person talking about their experiences in school, at a youth club, with their sports team and so on
  • a video of a youth group talking about how they made their group LGBTI+ inclusive
  • a young person interviewing an educator about how their school/college celebrates their LGBTI+ young people
  • a video from a coach/instructor of a sports team/club talking about how they value and promote their team/club to LGBTI+ young people and make them feel welcomed
  • an animated video created for an LGBTI+ festival or Pride celebration that highlights the involvement of LGBTI+ young people

Inspiration and Ideas for Image Submissions

  • a photo of an LGBTI+ youth group celebrating Pride with flags, bunting or other LGBTI+ related imagery
  • a photo of a mural created to welcome LGBTI+ young people to school, college or sports team
  • a photo/scan of an artwork (drawing/painting/digital poster etc) created in the spirit of celebrating LGBTI+ young people
  • a photo of a class/school/youth group assembled to celebrate an LGBTI+ Awareness Week
  • a photo of a jersey/poster/flag created by a sports/arts group to promote their inclusivity of LGBTI+ young people

Inspiration and Ideas for Written Word Submissions

  • a written essay by an LGBTI+ young person talking about their experience
  • a poem by an LGBTI+ young person creatively explaining how they were positively impacted by their school/youth club/sports team
  • a speech given at an LGBTI+ Pride event in a college/school/youth group by a youth leader celebrating their inclusivity of young people
  • lyrics to a song written by a young LGBTI+ person for their school talent show that tells their story and how visible they feel in their community
  • a spoken word piece created to raise awareness of LGBTI+ youth inclusivity in a town/community
