Childline

Childline is open every day and is for all children and young people up to the age of 18 in Ireland. You can talk with Childline in confidence, about anything that might be on your mind, and they will not won’t judge you, give out to you or tell you what to do. They will listen and help you to figure out the best solution for you. You can contact Childline for free at any time of the day or night by calling 1800 66 66 66. You can also chat live on the website, or, if you prefer to text, you can contact Childline by sending a text to 50101. More information on Childline can be found here.

Ombudsman for Children – An organisation that promotes the Rights of Children

The Ombudsman for Children is a statutory office established under the Ombudsman for Children Act 2002. The main functions of the office are to promote the rights and welfare of children up to the age of 18 years old and to investigate complaints made by children or on behalf of children against public bodies, schools and hospitals. Jigsaw – The national centre for youth mental health

At Jigsaw, their aim is to make sure that every young person’s mental health is valued and supported. Mental health can affect every aspect of a young person life. Click here to find the support that is right for you, whatever you are going through. Support is available both online and face to face.

Blossom Ireland - Training for young people with an intellectual disability

Blossom Ireland provides skill-based training for young people with an intellectual disability from 14 years old and above to help prepare for life as an adult. This includes bespoke supports, advocacy and information for both the young person and their family during the important transition periods in their life. For more information see here.

Epic – Empowering People in Care

Epic is national organisation working with and for children and young people who are currently in care or who have experience of being in care. Epic also work with young adults preparing to leave care and those in aftercare up to the age of 26. More information can be found here.
