The EU and International Energy and the EU Presidency Preparation Sections supports the work of the Minister in development and strategic management of the government's portfolio of work relating to international energy policy. This includes responsibility for, among other things, governance of Ireland's EU energy policy, international (non-EU) energy policy and interaction with and active participation in, bodies such as the IEA, IRENA and G20, to which Ireland is an observer in 2025/26. This section is also responsible for preparation across the DCEE functions for Ireland's EU Presidency in 2026.
