Principal Officer, Electricity Networks and Systems

The Electricity Networks and Systems Division supports the work of the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment and government in ensuring that the electricity network is developed to meet the needs of energy and climate policy. It ensures that the electricity transmission and distribution grid is extended and reinforced to provide a secure and reliable supply of electricity making maximum use of renewables and that connections to the grid are available on a timely basis to new generators and users. It also has oversight of the system services that are needed to ensure effective operation of the grid.
