The Annual Report for 2006 records the progress made in the fourth year since the Agreed Programme for Government of 2002 set out an ambitious agenda of development and change for the transport sector.

2006 saw the commencement of projects funded by the Government under Transport21, a ten year, €34 billion envelope of expenditure for new transport infrastructure.
