Tánaiste visits the Ploughing Championships 2023

The Tánaiste and Minister for Defence and Foreign Affairs, Micheál Martin TD, visited the 2023 National Ploughing Championships where he met volunteers from the Civil Defence, members of the Defence Forces and staff from the Office of Emergency Planning.

Members of Defence Forces provide information on exciting career opportunities within the Defence Forces.

The Office of Emergency Planning were promoting the upcoming Be Winter Ready campaign.

Volunteers from the Civil Defence raised awareness of the important work they do showcasing drones and sonar technology used in search and rescue operations.

The Department of Defence and Defence Forces participated as part of the the Government of Ireland village which saw over 125 different exhibitors at the 2023 National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, Portlaoise, Co Laois, on 19-21 September.
