The 3rd Annual All Island Disaster Risk Reduction Conference series

The Office of Emergency Planning will host the 3rd All Island Disaster Risk Reduction Conference, in Ballymascanlon House Hotel, Dundalk, Co. Louth, on the 7 to 8 November 2024.

The theme for this year’s conference is Resilient Societies and the Recovery Phase with a keynote speaker, pre-dinner speaker, panel discussions and workshops designed to support these themes.

The growing complexity of identified risks which could impact the entire island of Ireland, highlights the value in increasing cross-sectoral and cross-border cooperation for emergency preparedness, management, recovery and resilience.

The conference is held annually, with a focus on a different theme each year that is of relevance, and interest, on an all-island basis.

The attendees at this conference will be drawn from across the island, with a focus on those working at a strategic level in public administration, semi-state, academic, voluntary, and private sectors. The conference will bring these attendees together to work on practical and meaningful issues of common concern in relation to strategic emergency management, and contribute to the creation of cohesion across the island.

If you would like to enquire about the attendance or would like more information on the conference, please contact conference@drr.gov.ie.

Notes

This All Island Disaster Risk Reduction Conference series was commenced in light of the significant crises and emergency situations that have, or could have, an impact on a cross-border basis on the island of Ireland.
