The Department of Defence's X presence (Formerly known as Twitter) is managed by the department’s Press Office: defencepressoffice@defence.ie
If you follow us, you can expect tweets covering some or all of the following:
- press releases will be announced via X, LinkedIn, Youtube in addition to normal distribution channels
- alerts about new content on our website and links to official publications relating to the work of the department
- event information
- updates from the department
- alerts about new content on our website
- other practical information on services available through the department
Who we follow
The department will follow other government agencies, as well as any accounts followed by our audience, or accounts of interest to our followers.
The Press Office reserves the right to determine whether or not an account should be followed.
Reposts
Reposts are not endorsements of an opinion or comment.
The Department of Defence reposts third parties where they are a government department or office (including international or multilateral government), or a related organisation.
Other third parties may only be reposted in exceptional circumstances and for the direct benefit of our followers. This will be determined by the Press Office on a case-by-case basis.
