Department of Education Planning Framework
The Department of Education operates a planning framework which seeks to prioritise the delivery of our strategic objectives and develop strong support structures to ensure effective implementation. This framework includes the development of an annual statement of priorities, regular progress reporting, evaluation and longer term strategic planning.
Forbairt - Annual Statement of Priorities 2024
The Annual Statement of Priorities provides a roadmap to the delivery of the strategic and operational priorities set out in our Statement of Strategy 2023-2025.
This serves to assist us in managing the pace and sequence of change towards longer term strategic goals and to enable us to demonstrate ongoing change and reform in the sector and report progress. It shows the range of activity we are engaged in and the path we are following to achieve the goals set out in our Statement of Strategy 2023-2025:
1. Enable the provision of high-quality education and improve the learning experience to meet the needs of all children and young people, in schools and early learning and care settings
2. Ensure equity of opportunity in education and that all children and young people are supported to fulfil their potential
3. Together with our partners, provide strategic leadership and support for the delivery of the right systems and infrastructure for the sector
4. Organisational Excellence and Innovation
To monitor our progress and ensure we are delivering against our commitments, a progress report will be issued at the end of each quarter, which will provide an update on all actions.
