Survey of Parents/Guardians and Post-Primary Students - We want to hear your views
The Department of Education is conducting a review of the school transport scheme. The review encompasses the school transport scheme for children with special educational needs and the primary and post-primary school transport schemes.
As part of the review the Department will be listening to the views of parents and guardians, students, the education partners and other relevant stakeholders. It will use surveys, focus groups and meetings, as well as inviting written submissions.
As a first step the Department wants to hear the views of parents, guardians and post-primary students.
- A survey for parent/guardians is available at https://dessurveys.education.gov.ie/surveys/Parent-and-Guardian-School-Transport-Survey and parents/guardians are asked to complete this survey by 10 February 2022.
- A survey for post-primary students is available at https://dessurveys.education.gov.ie/surveys/Post-Primary-Pupils-School-Transport-Survey and we ask pupils to complete this survey by 10 February 2022.
#HaveYourSay: the Department wants to hear your views and opinions so that they may be considered in informing policy on the future operation of the school transport scheme.
As a next step, over the coming weeks the Department will invite written submissions from other relevant stakeholders and will arrange for a series of focus groups with primary students and students with additional needs to ask them to share their views and opinions also.
