Who we are
The department takes a system-wide approach through coordinated and integrated strategies across education. To manage this, the Corporate Programme Office was established, and its role has expanded to oversee a broad range of activities within the department and the sector.
Our role
- provide strategic oversight of the implementation and delivery of the department’s objectives, primarily through annual work programmes and quarterly progress reporting
- manage initiatives, including Better Public Services 2030 and the development and implementation of an innovation strategy for the sector
- coordination of the department’s response to the education needs of children arriving from Ukraine and children seeking International Protection
What we do
- drive, develop and support the high-level work programme for the department through the annual work programme to help co-ordinate priority actions for the department
- oversee the department’s business planning framework which sets out the main goals, objectives and targets for each division for the year
- manage the department’s submission to the Evaluation of the Response to Covid-19
- lead on the department’s input to implementation of the EU Migration and Asylum Pact
- support Regional Education and Language Teams (REALT) in their response to the arrival of children and young people from Ukraine and also those seeking international protection
