Data Governance and Strategy Unit

The data governance and strategy section takes the lead on supporting the department to be compliant with data and information regulations (including FOI, Records Management, GDPR and the Data Protection Acts). It also aims to provide greater strategic direction in the department's governance, management and use of data.

What we do

  • provide an administrative and coordinating service in relation to FOI and records management issues.
  • provide support to Business Units within the department on compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements
  • lead and coordinate the implementation of the actions within the department’s data strategy Department’s Data Strategy
  • provide centralised corporate data governance and support services
