The Education and Training Board (ETB) Finance Shared Service is part of the Education Shared Business Services (ESBS) and is based in the Liberty Centre Blanchardstown.
The ETB Finance Project was established to bring a transformational change to financial processing across the ETB sector. Primary objectives are to drive consistency, accuracy, transparency and better data quality to the financial books and records for ETBs.
The consolidation of finance functions into a shared service centre is in line with the Government’s wider Public Service Reform Plan and also forms a solid platform to implement changes in line with Government objective to modernise public reporting in line with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
Work completed to date:
- All ETBs are operating on a common financial management system;
- A common Procure to Pay (P2P) system and process has been implemented in all ETBs;
- Centralised Helpdesk and Training is available to all ETB staff for financial systems support;
- Standard finance reporting for all 16 ETBs;
- Four ETBs have transitioned finance transactional processing to Shared Services.
