New Mainstream Teaching Post

A school can apply for funding for furniture and ICT grants for a new teaching post if such a post is approved by the Department of Education, on a permanent basis, for the upcoming school year.

The grant applies to:

- Permanent mainstream classroom teaching post;

- Developing post;

- Permanent mainstream teaching post approved on appeal.

Only applications for the above posts approved for the current and upcoming school year will be considered. Retrospective applications will not be considered.

The grant amounts are:

- Furniture grant: €2,500

- ICT grant: €6,700

To make an application for a grant amount in respect of a new teaching post allocation, please submit the following documentation to furnitureequipment@education.gov.ie

1) Completed application form

2) Supporting letter from the relevant ETB, if applicable (where the school is under the patronage of an ETB).

The Department’s approval process:

Upon approval of the application, the school will receive a Purchase Order number, confirming the approval of funding, and the grant money will be transferred to the school's bank account.
