New Mainstream Teaching Post

Please be advised that the Furniture and Equipment (F&E) area within the Department has recently changed its process in respect of additional permanent mainstream teaching posts. This process will be an automated process based on shared information by the Teacher Allocation Section in the Department that approves the permanent mainstream teaching posts. You can expect to receive payment for a confirmed permanent mainstream teaching post during the summer following confirmation of said post (i.e. summer 2026 for a post confirmed in 2025/206 academic year).

The F&E area is currently working through the list of confirmed permanent mainstream teaching posts for the upcoming academic year (2025/2026).

If your query relates to a projected teaching post for September 2025, please note that F&E will not be in a position to process your application until this post is confirmed in the following academic year. In the event the projected enrollments are not met, the allocation of this post may be suppressed, and therefore it would not be appropriate for F&E to make funding available to your school until the post is confirmed.

In this regard, once F&E have received the data on the confirmed permanent mainstream teaching posts, we will begin to issue the relevant grant funding.

The grant amounts are:

- Furniture grant: €2,500

- ICT grant: €6,700

Once issued the grant money will be transferred to the school's bank account.
