What the Pensions Estimator is
The Pension Estimator (or Modeller) allows school staff to get an estimate of their potential retirement benefits based on the details entered.
The estimator (modeller):
- estimates pension benefits at retirement age
- estimates preserved benefits (payable at retirement age) if you resign your post before reaching retirement age
- estimates cost Neutral Early Retirement benefits payable before retirement age
- determines if you have insufficient service to retire on a proposed date
Who can use it
This service is available to school staff who receive salary directly from the Department of Education and are members of a pension scheme.
Given the complexities of pension calculations, the estimator (Modeller) is not capable of calculating all types of pensions which may be payable by the department. It is best suited to staff who have large blocks of uninterrupted service.
