Public consultation on multiple-vote share structures (Directive (EU) 2024/2810)

The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment invites submissions to a public consultation on the transposition into Irish law of the Directive on multiple-vote share structures for companies seeking to trade their shares in certain financial markets (Directive (EU) 2024/2810).

This Directive aims to facilitate SME owners’ access to market financing without jeopardising the control they have over their companies. It must be transposed into Irish law by 4 December 2026.

The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment welcomes submissions in general on this topic and in particular respondents are requested to address the specific questions at Appendix 1.

Respondents are requested to make their submissions by email. Submissions should be sent by email to CLRUNIT@enterprise.gov.ie.

The deadline for receipt of submissions is 5pm on Monday, 8 September 2025.
