National Research Prioritisation Exercise: First Progress Report

The Government has declared that the implementation of the National Research Prioritisation Exercise (NRPE) is its primary STI policy goal. The NRPE provides the template for public investment in research and development directed at economic outcomes for the five-year period, 2013-2017.

This first progress report provides a comprehensive update on the implementation of the NRPE from its inception up to the end of June 2014. The report summarises developments at a system level, as well as that the programme level across, the 14 Priority Areas.

The report was prepared by Forfás and the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, under the auspices of the Research Prioritisation Action Group.
