This report is an extension of the previous report carried out by Forfás and the HEA as part of the assessment of research activity in Ireland. Public research organisations (PROs) were not discussed explicitly in the first report. This report analyses more fully the research in the PROs in order to obtain a more complete analysis across the totality of the pubic research base.
