Biography

Dr Nora Strecker

Nora Strecker is an Assistant Professor and Ad Astra Fellow at University College Dublin’s School of Economics, a research affiliate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the Geary Institute for Public Policy, as well as a member of the SKATTEFORSK Centre for Tax Research, the Standing Committee on Public Economics of the German Economics Association, and the Dublin European Institute.

She is also a co-founder of IPEN, the Irish Public Economics Network. Her research focuses on public finance at the intersection of international economics and she has published in top ranked international economics journals, such as the American Economic Review and the Journal of International Economics.

Her work focuses on the effects of globalization on firms, workers, and governments through the lens of taxation. She joined UCD in 2020 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich), where she also obtained her PhD. She also holds degrees from New York University.
