The Role
Tax Policy Adviser
The Department of Finance's mission is to lead in the achievement of the Government’s economic, fiscal, banking and financial policy goals, having regard to the commitments set out in the Programme for Government. The Department is an inclusive, high performance, knowledge based, professional and learning organisation. The Department has two Tax Divisions - the Domestic and Indirect Tax Policy Division and the Business and International Tax Policy Division.
Tax Policy Advisers are managers (at Assistant Principal Higher Officer level) and report to a Principal Officer. They are engaged in the development of tax policy advice for the Minister for Finance and the Government.
Tax Policy Advisers have responsibility for researching and developing tax policy options in line with Government policy and fiscal objectives. They interact with a range of stakeholders including the Revenue Commissioners and other Government departments in relation to tax policy and the tax system.
Vacancies exist for Tax Policy Advisers in the Department. A panel will be formed from this competition to fill current and any future vacancies that may arise.
