Ireland’s resilient economic model made us one of the best performing advanced economies in the world, even during the impact of COVID-19. Our underlying structural strengths and capital investment plans mean we’re well positioned for future growth.
- Ireland’s long-term credit rating is in the “A” category with all the main ratings agencies due to our sustainably managed public finances.
- Our economy is highly developed and knowledge-based, with a concentration of skills in technology, life sciences, financial services and agribusiness, including agrifood.
- Ireland is stable, competitive, secure and is the location of choice for global leaders across an array of sectors.
- There are over 2.6 million people at work – the highest level ever. We have one of the youngest populations in Europe and female participation rates in the labour market are now at historic levels. Unemployment is around 4% - well below the EU average.
