Statement from the Tánaiste on latest reports from the Middle East

"I am very concerned at the latest reports from the Middle East. This is a critical moment for the ceasefire and hostage release deal.

"We must avoid a resumption of hostilities, and all sides must honour their commitments under the deal.

"We need to see the further release of hostages and the continuation of much-needed humanitarian aid into Gaza.

"A resumption of conflict in Gaza would be disastrous and everything should be done to avert this.

"I urge all concerned to work toward this goal."
