Awards under Global Ireland Media Challenge Fund

Six organisations will receive funding under the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Global Ireland Media Challenge Fund under this phase of the Fund (2025-2026).

The objective of this Fund is to support the provision of information about major geo-political developments and the changing nature of Ireland’s role in the world, to the public in Ireland, by helping build the capacity of Irish media outlets to undertake international reporting.

An Expert Advisory Panel was established to provide independent expertise, and to help ensure good governance through informed decision making on all applications. Details of the current Expert Advisory Panel are published here.

For this phase of the Fund (2025-2026), funding has been awarded as follows:

• Business Post - €160,000
• Irish Examiner - €160,000
• Irish News - €25,500
• Reach Media - €85,000
• RTÉ - €575,000
