Grant Application Portal - Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

The Grant Application Portal is hosted and controlled by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. All funding-related applications are made through this portal. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade disburses annual grants in excess of €700 million to over 700 organisations worldwide across 48 grant schemes.

Please follow the steps below to use the Grant Application Portal.

Send any technical questions about using the Grant Application Portal to PortalAdmin@dfa.ie.

1. From the welcome page, click ‘register’.
2. Accept the terms and conditions to continue.
3. Fill in your organisation details. The first question asks if you are registering with a new or existing organisation.
4. If you are registering a new organisation to the Grants Application Portal, as the first contact, you will become the Contact Administrator. The Contact Administrator manages the details of that organisation and of the contacts associated with it.
5. Fill in the organisation name, then the contact person’s details, your business email, and your business phone number.
6. Complete the captcha security measure, then click ‘submit’.
7. The portal will send an email to the email address that you entered. The email will contain a temporary password and a link which will bring you the next step of your registration.

1. The link in your registration email will bring you to the sign in page.
2. Sign in for the first time, using the temporary password in the registration email.
3. Follow the instruction to create a brand-new password.
4. A verification code will be sent to your email to verify your email address..

1. The link in your registration email will bring you to the sign in page.
2. Enter your email address and the verification code in the verification email.
3. Click ‘verify code’.
4. Click ‘continue’ on the following screen to access the portal.
5. If you did not receive the code to your email address, click ‘send new code’.

1. From the portal homepage, Click the ‘manage contacts and organisation’ tab in the top ribbon.
2. Clicking on this tab gives you access to three main areas:
   1. My Organisation Contacts
   2. My Pending Portal Registrations - this is where you can accept or decline new registrations for additional contacts to your organisation
   3. My Organisation Details - this is where you will find all details related to your organisation, and where you can add additional information
3. Under the ‘edit organisation details’ tab, you have many additional fields, giving you the option of adding much more information than initially populated. It is important to fill in these fields with as much information as possible, and as accurately as possible.
4. Once all relevant information has been added, you may submit the information by clicking ‘submit’.
5. All submitted information will be saved against your organisation profile, and provided to the grant managers at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
