Liam Roche

Liam Roche

Liam Roche is a 23 year old Architectural BIM(Building Information Modelling) Technologist from "sunny" Wexford Town. He is currently undertaking his degree at South East Technological University Waterford while also working for Mahon|Fox Architects.

While his educational journey took an unexpected turn when he chose to drop out of secondary school after his Junior Certificate, he used the opportunity to hone his skills to allow him to get to where he is today.

Completing a QQI Level 4 in Construction followed by a PLC course in Engineering, it allowed him to progress into SETU.

He is thrilled to be part of Team Ireland for Worldskills Lyon 2024 in the Digital Construction category where it's an incredible opportunity to share the stage with like minded competitors from around the world who share his passion for Digital Construction and Building Informational Modelling.

When he's not engrossed in the world of construction, Liam enjoys spending his time drawing, travelling and spending time with friends. One of his biggest loves is music, and coming from a hugely musical family surrounded by sessions and singsongs, he does his best work with his headphones on full blast.

Through initiatives like the Building Heroes campaign, he aims to inspire young people across Ireland.

He wants to show them that there are numerous paths to a successful career in construction, even without a Leaving Certificate.
