Note 2: Under the one person, one salary principle, public servants and public sector employees who sit on state boards may not be paid board fees.
Note 3: Option to waive board fees - it is a requirement since January 2012 that board members are given the option to waive the related board fee on a discretionary basis as a matter of formal protocol. Certain members of the board of the Science Foundation Ireland avail of this option.
