Minister invites expressions of interest for ministerial nominees to the Governing Authorities of Dublin City University and the National University of Ireland, Galway

The Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris, today invited expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced persons for consideration for nomination as Ministerial nominees to the Governing Authorities of Dublin City University (DCU) and NUI Galway.

Minister Harris said:

“A strongly governed and supported higher education system is key to Ireland’s future. The higher education system in Ireland is currently at a pivotal and exciting phase and these positions provide an opportunity for individuals to become involved in a meaningful way and bring their experiences and expertise to benefit these Universities.”

The process for filling these positions is being managed by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. A detailed Information Booklet can be found here and Expressions of Interest may be made by submitting a Curriculum Vitae and detailed cover letter to boardvacancies@dfheris.gov.ie.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is 3pm on Wednesday, 2nd June 2021.

Fees payable to board members

These positions are not remunerated. Travel and subsistence allowances will be paid in respect of journeys undertaken to attend meetings of the Authorities or to transact its business.
